Biographies of Key Personnel

Ivor Campbell, Managing Director
Ivor is a native of Montrose, Angus and spent his early years in the village of St Cyrus in North East Scotland.

He began his career as a recruiter in 1987 with a generalist, multiple branch employment agency in Aberdeen. Whilst working with this business he became interested in the potential of search as a solution and joined a specialist oil and gas search consultancy in Aberdeen in 1994 to learn from a highly professional and experienced mentor. A dalliance with the (then) lucrative world of contract IT consulting based in Glasgow and Edinburgh followed during the four years to 2000 when the IT industry boom began to fizzle out. A return to search with a start up “dot com” (remember those?) was followed by the foundation of Snedden Campbell in 2001.

Since 2001, Ivor has worked to improve and refine the concept of search and bring on likeminded professionals to continue the strong growth of Snedden Campbell.

Ivor is married to Jen and they live with their three children in Callander, Perthshire. In his spare time he tries to come to grips with the intricacies of the Makotokai Karate style, rides his bike through the Trossachs National Park and disappears into the hills when he can.

Jennifer Snedden, Director
Jen is the Snedden in Snedden Campbell and was instrumental in the initial foundation and subsequent success of the business.

Born and raised in Glasgow, Jennifer moved to the North East of Scotland with her family in the early 1980’s. She moved south in 1986 and spent ten years in the bright lights of London working in publishing, before returning to Scotland to manage sales for a major non-fiction publishing house. In 2000 she “retired” to spend time with her young family and used her severance package to provide the capital to set up Snedden Campbell.

Since 2001, Jennifer has worked with Snedden Campbell on research, marketing and business development.

Married to Ivor, Jennifer has many interests outside work – in particular she is passionate about designing and making stained glass.

Sandra Jack-Dempsey, Director of Operations
Sandra has been with Snedden Campbell since January 2005.

Originally from Edinburgh Sandra’s early career was with Advertising Agencies in Edinburgh and London. She subsequently joined the police where she attained the rank of sergeant, after four years, and served as an instructor and Staff Officer in the Scottish Police College at Tulliallan. Convinced that her future lay in people development she moved on to hold senior managerial roles in Personnel Development, HR and Business Development with a major drinks business and a well-known Scottish bank.

Moving from Edinburgh to the more hospitable surroundings of Perthshire with her husband led to another career review and subsequently the move to Snedden Campbell.

Sandra is focussing on developing the infrastructure, operations and staffing of the business.

Outside the office, Sandra’s favourite pastimes include tramping the hills of Perthshire with her dogs and visiting historic buildings.
